Is it a coincidence that the states with the best public high schools are all BLUE states?

1. Massachusetts
2. Conneticut
3. Vermont
4. California
5. Virginia
6. New Jersey
6. Rhode Island
8. Maine
8. Ohio
8. Illinois
With a few exceptions, the lower the state ranking the redder the state’s politics. Why is this?
The answer is money. States with a higher per capita income have better schools. Higher income earners are more involved parents. Schools in which parents are more involved – in which parents attend parent-teacher conferences – in which parents volunteer a lot of time to make the school better have better results with educating the next generation. This isn’t rocket science – it’s just not practiced in the Red States.
