Professor Layton And The Curious Village is a puzzle adventure video game developed and published by Level 5 in Japan originally, and later by Nintendo in North America, Australia, South Korea, and Europe for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console.
It is the first installment in the Professor Layton series, and was followed by Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box and Layton-ky?ju to Saigo no Jikan Ryok?. It includes over 120 brain teasers for the player to solve as the player controls a Professor named Layton and his young assistant named Luke.
The Good

- Seamlessly blends puzzle-solving, adventuring, and an entertaining story
- Attractive visuals with impressive-looking FMV sequences
- Puzzles are challenging but fair
- No time limits and a generous hint system keep the game from being frustrating.

Lack creativeness for the background music as it was too repetitive.
Overall
I like this kind of game. Puzzles and mini quests every where waiting for you to solve. To solve the many mysteries in St. Mystere, you must travel around the village and speak to its inhabitants. When you come across townspeople, you interact with them by tapping them as well. They’re more than happy to help you…eventually. You see, each person has a logic puzzle that he or she needs you to solve before offering his or her assistance. Yes, this is a bit strange, but you’ll learn the reason for it before all is said and done.
